Hi!!! someone can help me? I lost control over my VPS ssh doesn't works up_the_irons, ping! pancho_jay Connect via VNC and see what makes it not working deXar, I don't know how can you help me? Sure. Do you know at least, your VNC hostname, port, and password? deXar, I will ask customer info please hold deXar, Where can I get that info? pancho_jay: portal.arpnetworks.com DaCa, thanx!! problem solved Just trying to compare my options between a Linode VPS and an Arpnetwork VPS. Does Arpnetworks offer Load Balancing, IP-Failover, or private IP addresses for VPS instances? Those seem to be the compelling features of Linode. codecaver: you are assigned a VLAN for all your dedicated / VPS needs. You can use any private IP scheme within that VLAN as you like. The public IP / Gateway will be assigned to you. codecaver: Also bandwidth within hosts on your VLAN do not count towards your bandwidth quota Nice, that's great to hear. Any thoughts on the load balancer side? I intend to have 2-3 web servers running Nginx. On Linode, I've done this very easily with their "NodeBalancer" offering, but I'm not sure how to achieve the same thing with a host like Arpnetworks. Also : http://support.arpnetworks.com/kb/vps/are-private-ip-addresses-available-for-vps-to-vps-communication I don't think ARP has a similar feature Oh, thanks for that. Will start browsing the KB to answer some of my questions. Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. I know I can get this working with something like HAProxy or Varnish as a software load-balancer, but that will still seem to introduce a single point of failure into the architecture. It would be great if two nodes running Haproxy could share the public-facing IP. I guess that's possible with something like DNS round-robin, but I'd much prefer a solution that can be implemented on the hosts' network, like the load balancing features built-in to Cisco's iOS, say. codecaver: just use openbsd and carp(4) toddf: So I can setup two nodes within ARPNetworks that share the same public IP address and both would be running OpenBSD and Carp to load balance my web tier? Yeah, should work (but don't quote me on it)
