toddf: so I wonder if the switches/kvm networking/etc would support QinQ vlans (svlan(4) in OpenBSD, IEEE 802.1AD-compliant provider bridges) .. I can use point-to-point gif(4) interfaces to approximate this, but having separate networks from the main network interface makes firewall rules much easier and in some cases actually possible since it is a different interface
well, what I should say is, I just tested, and svlan(4) does not propogate to other vms
so its either explicitly blocked or something in the path doesn't support it
my question is, would it be detrimental in any way for arpnetworks to enable this functionality between vm's ?

up_the_irons: toddf: it's probably the MTU
toddf: if you want to go through a testing session, i can raise the MTU of various interfaces and see if / what makes a difference
toddf: I doubt a mtu would be the issue if I'm sending a simple icmp6 packet
I should try on the two newest kvm's from you just incase the 'newer' os makes any difference

up_the_irons: toddf: i would really doubt the kvm version is the issue. the networking is simply pass-thru.
toddf: if it is stripping the vlan tag, because of MTU, that might be it
anisfarhana: Hi up_the_irons
up_the_irons: toddf: but yeah, with a smaller icmp6 frame, maybe not...
Hi anisfarhana
anisfarhana: up_the_irons: I registered a new channel
Called ##pothead
Come if you want , anytime
up_the_irons: i'm in too many channels already
anisfarhana: up_the_irons: It is ok
If only you wanna join
up_the_irons: Bong sir?
-: anisfarhana hands her rolls to up_the_irons
anisfarhana: Life is short.
Enjoy it
-: up_the_irons would prefer a cigar
anisfarhana: I dom't smoke.
Smoke is not good for your lungs.
up_the_irons: you don't inhale cigars
anisfarhana: The smoke from cigars.
You don't inhale it?
up_the_irons: they are too alkaline
anisfarhana: Smoke it in little amount only.
But
Try weed.
up_the_irons: no, chemicals from the cigar are absorbed by your tongue and gums, not lungs
anisfarhana: Weed - no chemical.
It can reduce your stress and depression too.
And make your happy
Like me now
phlux: lol wtf
up_the_irons: weed never did anything for me
anisfarhana: Like seriously?
up_the_irons: give me a good cuban, and now we're talkin'!
anisfarhana: I asked my friend to make it for me.
phlux: "I just smoke weed. I don't smoke." is like saying "I love heroin, but I ain't touchin no cigarette, that shit'll kill you!"
-: up_the_irons grabs some coffee
anisfarhana: Ha ha ha
phlux: hi
phlux: I love that quotes.
CaZe: Well, you don't need to smoke marijuana to ingest it.
anisfarhana: I stop taking it long time ago
And now i started smoke it again
CaZe: You could just cook it in oil.
anisfarhana: Cook what?
CaZe: marijuana
If you are so worried about smoke.
anisfarhana: Eat it?
qbit: CaZe++
also there are like 300 studies showing that people that smoke weed have lower rates of lung cancer ( even people that smoke weed AND cigs )
brycec: I hate smoking, would rather vapourize
qbit: also - dunhill early morning is my new fav pipe bacci!
***: ant has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 264 seconds)
up_the_irons: qbit: yes, many studies show that people who are stressed are much more suseptible to lung cancer. it almost shows that smokers who live low stress lives never get cancer.

(and not that its the same, especially because it uses bandwidth, but..) cyphertite.com just changed their data plans .. 8gb = free, unlimited for 'personal use' = $10/mo, corp = $.10/gb/mo on their encrypted deduplicated storage
brycec: Oh very cool
i wonder if cyphertite's on ipv6...
cyphertite.com gives me a AAAA ;)
