I think I broke my VM, bleh. Did the freebsd-update to 9.1... but it didn't upgrade my custom kernel. I think it upgraded the rest of the system, however. Now it doesn't look like it's booting. try kvm maybe? Yeah I'm in the console It's sitting there showing lines like this: t_delta 15.fd8d773cf6436480 too short t_delta 16.01643f0a544dbb00 too long t_delta 15.fed58458af6a0180 too short it should have at least installed a 9.1 GENERIC kernel? Nope, it won't install a GENERIC kernel if you have a custom kernel. mine did heh I'm sure it's my fault. I probably did something out of order. If I could get to the filesystem out-of-band, I could just untar the kernel.txz file pretty sure it did anyway as i remember doing a uname -a at some point and seeing GENERIC there get 9.1 iso mounted.. boot off that. Yeah. I'm going to have to ask for that attached i should say up_the_irons: You around? (Probably not, it's not 5AM :P) Sent to support@. Hopefully it won't be super long! How do you make the VM boot from the CD? oh, I see, you can do it from the VNC console. Well, I managed to get the machine back up, I ended up getting it to boot to single-user mode, then I disabled most of the stuff in rc.conf, then booted it to multiuser, now I'm rebuilding all my ports. \o/ fun Meanwhile, there's a windstorm outside and I can't wait for my power to go out in the middle of all this :) \o/ awyeah: hey now... I am getting up earlier these days, so no more 5AM IRC'ing lately ;)
