LEMONed has quit IRC (Client Quit) up_the_irons: jlgaddis: the choice of PowerDNS was to be able to programmatically update records / zones / anything. It fits this purpose. I haven't tested performance, but it is not causing any headaches at the moment. It is also stable, don't think it has ever crashed. LT: +1 for powerdns... though nsd is also pretty nice ***: [Derek] has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 252 seconds) up_the_irons: yeah i like nsd too ***: [Derek] has joined #arpnetworks LT: keep meaning to play with the dnssec stuff in powerdns - looks really simple compared to everything else ***: sramov has joined #arpnetworks

sramov has joined #arpnetworks jlgaddis: up_the_irons: Yeah, pretty much the same reason i'm looking at it. If I asked any of my co-workers to add/update/delete an RR right now (using BIND), they'd be lost. up_the_irons: yep jlgaddis: up_the_irons: At least w/ PowerDNS, I could set up one of the existing web front-ends to it or just create my own. up_the_irons: right jlgaddis: I *could* hack up a web front-end to do the same, then send dynamic DNS updates directly to BIND but, meh, that sounds dirty. ***: cullum has joined #arpnetworks

this is what I have: https://gist.github.com/4656583
DNS is sorted out, but I can't seem to get nginx & nsd to answer via V6
I am able to ping IPv6 addresses from the VPS
hut.ramov.com is the hostname for both the primary nsd master and nginx is listening there too jlgaddis: listen 80 default; ## listen for ipv4
listen [::]:80 default ipv6only=on; ## listen for ipv6
that's pretty much all of ipv6 config for nginx sramov: have you seen the gist I've posted? ***: LT has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving)

I'm 99.999999% sure the sun will cease to exist by that point
heck, maybe even the entire universe will have cooled
granted, the ipv6 space is also super sparse
so i doubt that estimate is anywhere near correct milki: nah, its gonna flatline when we switch off of ip
Webhostbudd: theres a link on the calculation Webhostbudd: again
that's only if we can saturate ipv6 brycec: holy cow that auto-refresh is super-annoying mercutio: what auto refresh? brycec: on that samsclass.info page
