up_the_irons: i'm having issues running hte fbsd9.1 installer on kvm with virtio/et al. are you runing ide/scsi drivers?

jbergstroem: is virtio the default in 9.1 if you use kvm, or is that still something you need to do manually?
up_the_irons: its up to your host/qemu. newer qemu's gives you a lot of choice
all virt* drivers are preferable
gives both host and vm's better performance

up_the_irons: google tells me that fbsd9.1 supposedly have more than one issue with kvm as host. probably not too hard to solve tho

i'm already running 9.1 with no issues... so whatver kvm cpu settings are there must be fine..

last i knew aes etc wasn't usable
