so, I was tempted to get a 2nd vps to act as a db backend for web stuff.   anyone have any thoughts on the practicality of this?
well two single points of failure
but other than that, you just need db to listen to external ip
and allow permissions from your normal host
it's not critical per se
it's more Practical Experience to Mess Around With pending cert exam
since i don't get to mess around too much at work

they're gonna pay for me to take the RHCSA/CE classes.    but I have to pay for the exam upfront, they only reimburse if I pass
So, practiciing in every way I can.

it's the red hat certification.     everyone i work with has said just practice with centos
bosses like people with certs, they'll pay for it.... if we pass it.   and it gets me more $$.  so worth a shot.
at the .edu, they paid for all kinds of training and any cert tests, so i took a bunch of 'em, then they gave me raises for 'em.  no lose situation.

yeah, you're actually performing tasks on a (virtual) rhel box. not just answering questions or doing those retarded simulations.
