LOL, the call sign N6ARP is available (correct region code too!) another interesting one: W3WWW I am M0PLL, which is almost my initials, and is also a phase-locked loop ;) N6ARP seems just too cool mine is N9WWV, everybody always asked me what time it was i'm about to upgrade to the precise distro. the installer says it's not advisable to install under ssh because in case of failure it's harder to recover - has anyone done this? should i seek some other means to upgrade? Just install from the serial console. ? the machine isn't physically present. You're provided with access to the serial console. As well as VNC. http://support.arpnetworks.com/kb/vps/out-of-band-management cool - thanks!~ got into serial console. here goes nothing :) biggest thing to remember about serial console is to enable both kernel serial console and the login prompt on serial console, each os distribution does this differently, but should be sufficient reminder ;-) you can do vga console via vnc but serial console is way less bandwidth intensive and more prone to cut and paste ease ;-) took me forever to figure out how to do it on fbsd. "/boot.config", OF COURSE. HOW OBVIOUS. jdoe: well, now you know =] and so does anybody else who didn't already but was paying attention. haha thanks guys. all went well. plett: lol nice call sign!
