I'm having trouble accessing your network from one of my other machines. traceroute show me the packet stops at TenGE13-2.br02.ams01.pccwbtn.net. this is probably a problem with the isp of that machine, and not something on your side? ***: cmeiklejohn has joined #arpnetworks

koan has joined #arpnetworks up_the_irons: toddf: i was working with nick CARP to get his CARP (heh) interfaces working. He insists a static ARP entry on the router is required. I somewhat doubt this and told him we're not gonna do that. Figure it out or don't... ;) -: up_the_irons wanders off twobithacker: Shouldn't need anything special on the router for carp to work
or at least, I've never had to do anything special, though I have had issues with switches dropping multicast IPv6 traffic with carp toddf: shouldnt need an arp entry unless it is some non openbsd crp
carp
i will try v6 carp later to confirm
arpnetworks is a place i have not tried but it is std mjulticast twobithacker: I'm pretty sure I ran into a switch bug, it wouldn't pass IPv6 multicast as long as IGMP snooping was enabled (a v4-only feature) valleyfox: hi, on my new vps when i run "portsnap fetch" or try compiling a package i receive http://pastebin.com/j4g3E0Gp but I have 2.3GB free of space.
it is freebsd 9 twobithacker: df -i? valleyfox: /dev/ada0p2 5159452 2345304 2401392 49% 331517 1 100% / twobithacker: yup, you're out of inodes
so, you probably have either a bunch of directories hanging around, or a whole lot of tiny files valleyfox: i dont know what then
its brand new. twobithacker: actually, looks like the filesystem was created with a somewhat low number of inodes
from my VPS:
/dev/ad0s1a 9110318 4001558 4379936 48% 302398 875200 26% / valleyfox: so i assume something now has to be done on the node twobithacker: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=162659+&cat=bin talks about the problem
but yeah, the filesystem needs to be recreated to increase the number of inodes
if this is how ARP is delivering these VPSes, they should fix their template valleyfox: heh
i removed the temp account and now i have 6 inodes free.
anyone around who could fix this?
guess not alexstanford: hrm
ask on http://techtalkin.com someone there probably will valleyfox: i removed all ports and i have 285328 inodes free now
disappointing that i cant have ports. meingtsla: Do your own reinstall :O -: meingtsla ducks valleyfox: :/ ***: cmeik has joined #arpnetworks brycec: meingtsla++
