sunil: i was actually working on the dedicated server plans page yesterday. it'll all be up officially next week.
jbergstroem: not done with the gentoo install (the dedicated server website pages took priority ;)
jbergstroem: but at this point it doesn't seem longer than a couple hours to fully wrap everything up
ok, cool!
:)
i'm all done basically, migrating this week
oh nice
looking forward to comparing collectd output
jbergstroem: it's somewhat awesome that gentoo has no installer. the "rawness" of building it all yourself is cool in a way
up_the_irons: yeah, its more of a meta distribution than anything else.
yeah
there used to be one floating around, but no one use it anyway :)
haha
btw, how do you expose cores to vm's? -cpu host?
libvirt "vcpu" option
looks to translate to "-smp 1" or "-smp 4" etc...
ok, thanks. not familiar with vcpu, but will read up (tried to avoid libvirt for whatever reason)

CaZe: after much experimenting - i have determined that my pharos is wicked out of alignment :P
gonna do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdpJXsO1sl4
qbit: I haven't had much luck with that method.
darn
qbit: The thing with aligning it is that when you have the outer burr centered while the three long bolts are loose, tightning those three bolts usually puts it out of alignment.
qbit: I've developed my own method of aligning that I'll tell you about later.
I'm on my phone right now and I don't feel like typing that much.
qbit: Looking at Doug's video, it may well be that I'm overtightening.
qbit: But everytime I tried his method, I still end up with carouseling.
btw, he goes by listening for the burr rub to determine alignment.
I got by watching/feeling the carouseling of the axle.
