mbset has joined #arpnetworks mbset: I am trying to get a mail server operational, but I can't seem to access it from the internet. I can get to it via localhost, but even when I (briefly) turned off my firewall, I still could not access port 25. Port 80 and 22 worked fine with and without the firewall. Any ideas? Is arpnetworks filtering 25? ***: HighJinx has joined #arpnetworks mbset: I guess they would only be filtering inbound smtp since I can send mail from the server to anywhere with no problem mhoran: Works fine for me.
However, your ISP may be blocking port 25 outgoing.
It's typically recommended to use submission (587) to send mail to your server.
And use 25 for server to server communication. jdoe: your ISP is almost certainly blocking 25 outbound.
since it's not 1995 anymore. mhoran: Mine doesn't, but mine is also trapped in 1995 (http://bway.net). ***: HighJinx has quit IRC (Quit: Computer has gone to sleep.) jpalmer: up_the_irons: do you host a centos mirror or yum update mirror on your local network? if so, what is the address?
