dr_jkl: i'll have that iso changed for you, worry not... Meh I just yelled at some lady on the phone at PayPal I threatened to call my lawyer, talk to the DA, contact the BBB I bet my account gets flagged or something now, and I'll have to wait even longer for my money to be released. The money in question? A REFUND FROM WOOT.COM. Who puts a hold on a REFUND? refunds are common in fraud cases I believe, anyway... I've certainly seen it a couple of times. Well, regardless, I'll be leaving paypal after this incident is cleared up. I feel bad for the woman on the other end of the phone, though I apologized to her at the end I tried to keep my cool until she started reading from her script Once she started feeding me the exact same BS the other guy did on Monday (word for word) I lost it. Leaving PayPal for what? Google Checkout, I guess. I'm figuring if I don't trust you with my CC information, and you don't accept Google Checkout, you just won't get my business. and I'll write e-mails stating as such, in hopes to get businesses to accept more payment methods. ya, fair enough Good luck. I recently worked on a payment method (a client app), so throw LevelUp into the mix if you want. I can confirm that they are very paranoid. LevelUp eh Interesting - I've not heard of them It's a crowded market, but they're big in Boston and growing in SF and NYC. No EU presence. They have some fancy 0-clicks online purchase system that they demo'ed at that technology/art conference in Austin. i have not heard of LevelUp either oh, looks cool every since i could pay at Starbucks with my phone, i wanted that EVERYWHERE Well, come to Boston and you can do that. Channel announce (for those who don't follow @bsdvps or @arpnetworks): OpenBSD 5.1 templates are ready, and available to order (or re-image) *announcement bah up_the_irons: do you disable mpbios in the image? up_the_irons: thank you sir :D up_the_irons: wasn't mad or anything, i was just like o.O i've never had to ask them for anything before o.O of course, now i have to figure out what it is about TightVNC that makes your console server give me the middle finger.. :) Hey, how do I get you guys to reimage a vps for me? Just to a stock deb6 Email support@ . roger and or do you guys support the latest LTS? http://goo.gl/D7Cqd - approximately: just as much as anything else. good deal If you link to an ISO in your support request, they can put that ISO in. already done, cool yeah, had freebsd 9 on my fiances business site, just getting sick of maintaining ports :) Felt like back in the good ole gentoo days writing patches for #love-sources (now defunct) Sure, I can see that. OpenBSD's pkg_add is really nice in that regard. yeah I mean you can pkg_add -r in freebsd as well. Just, half the time specific packages or modules are non-existant. So when you have a mix of binary packages and ports rebuilds, things get hectic and break during updates. packages are what you use before you realize how messed up they are. :) yep then it takes 5 hours to update your install haha up_the_irons I just sent you yet another customer (Marcel Chastain, he just ordered).. that's like 4-5 guys I've sent you.. where's my tshirt? lol pjs: do you not have one of the HE ipv6 shirts? you'll never need another tshirt again. suitable for weddings, funerals... funerdings.... lol haha I don't have any shirts up_the_irons kept saying I'd get one for every referral.. I'm a few deep now ;) and mostly I'm just giving him shit great service at a fair price is my reward no I get it, I just wanted to riff on the horror of those shirts :P hah since IPv6 was brought up.. any good tutorials on getting IPv6 wise? I'm so clueless there if you just want the basics, HE has a ton of stuff (... and when you finish their quizzes/tests, you get the previously mentioned shirt) (... eventually.) jdoe: have you even taken yours off since you got it? it started getting a bit ratty, so I fashioned it into a crude set of underwear and just kept right on truckin' good man HE? hurricane electric he.net ahh, cool thx wait you get a shirt i want a shirt ryk: yes, i disable mpbios dr_jkl: i wasn't under the impression you were mad anyway... ;) dr_jkl: btw, @press5 and your initials.. GENIUS segv: we have 10.04 templates, but not 12.04 yet. but we can always mount 12.04 for ya. pjs: thanks!! man, i keep on dropping the ball on getting you a shirt... up_the_irons: cool deal, i sent an email with the iso location cool should be from info@....com up_the_irons: you guys get the support email from info@myd... yay delicious freebsd 9 :D maybe now i can compile this with a minimum of bitching from gcc hmm mhoran: can you mount an image for me? hmmm... so i compiled a static version of vim... but it's still looking for things lke share/vim/syntax/syntax.vim wherever my /prefix was on the server i built it on. is there any way around that? err --prefix dr_jkl: iirc, --prefix will be the "base" dir for _everything_, even things in share; but there might be a --sharepath, or similar, option. see ./configure --help there isn't, sadly.. well, there's --datarootdir which *should* do what i want, but i don't know how to say 'in the same folder as the binary, without being recursive' hmm.. dunno dr_jkl: did you get vnc working, btw? i did i got your email and was like "....really? derp." haha cool because i should have tried that, but i didn't make a connection between the host and the vnc port yeah, i wouldn't imagine anyone would, unless they knew how kvm/qemu worked my freebsd 8-something install was like "i don't have this lib you need to make vim and it's not in the freaking ports tree" so i was like let's try an upgrade since i was getting the 'wah, nearing EOL' notices from freebsd-update yeah lol it could be worse it coould be IRIX srsly aw look it i fixed it dr_jkl: what was it? i needed to reset $VIMRUNTIME ahh syntax highlighting and perl interpreter, i've missed you. how was your upgrade to 9? whats the patch number like over 1000 files? wasnt* dr_jkl: nice yo okay heh can't connect to my kvn on kvr35 bah 25** up_the_irons: known anything about that? segv: what is the port? 6125 segv: i just connected fine segv: check your vnc prog yeah chicken of the vnc latest, not the original but the new forked one just sits "Connecting..." fixed heh effing internal firewall fail :)
