How is the AMD Opteron 6140 (2.6 GHz) so much more expensive than the newer 6212 at the same clock speed and yet the 6212 seems to also have better specs all around?

i specifically got one of those ridiculous giant heatsinks for overclockers, just so that i wouldn't have to turn on the fan, for my htpc box
you should have just gotten a low power chip to begin with, and let the gpu do all the work :P

I have no idea anymore. I just remember having difficulty looking for silent GPU
I used to have a passive nvidia 8400gs... it was pretty miserable for almost everything, but I *think* it will do vdpau.
