hey all /ws 18 #fail :P :) esc-i ;) up_the_irons: Is requesting an extra ipv4 IP because a client of mine wants to run an IRC network on ports that are already in use ARIN justification? Or am I going to get denied? You can always buy more. :-) wait I'm an idiot I /did/ buy more I just don't have them enabled let me play you the song of my people. http://www.sadtrombone.com/ wait, I'm even more of an idiot I do have them enabled Good lord...I'm absent-minded today and lol@sad trombone phlux: lol fuck, trying to get back into shape SUCKS. nike+gps says I ran 0.43 miles. It feels like I just finished a marathon. LOL jpalmer: I went through the same thing after back surgery. I'm in the USCG, and I had to lose 30 pounds in 6 months. Back down to basic training weight these days :) when I win the lotto, I'm going to find a way to automate my personal fitness. lol lol you better hook me up, too haha jpalmer: i remember the first time i tried to run, which was the first time since like high school... i ran two small blocks are had an asthma attack for like 30 minutes.. LOL ... Now I can do 500 yards in 90 seconds up_the_irons: thats my scenario. I used to be really fit in HS. now, I just ran my first .43 miles, since. and I'm 36. LOL jpalmer: yeah it's rough at first I'm very overweight too, so my knees are killing me now. (240 lbs) i was able to lose like 20 lbs... kept most of it off since. i want to build my distance running in the next 6 months and see if i can pull off a half marathon I think I'll take small steps. hit the gym cycles, to drop weight. THEN take up running when I'm not abusing the hell out of my knees. is the copy of /etc/ttys on a new fbsd 8.2 VM modified in any significant way from stock? my wife just did a 6.3 mile mud run last saturday. thats kinda what piqued my interest. jpalmer: yeah, take it easy, small progressions... don't kill your knees, shins, hips... CESSMASTER: it enables the serial console, and turns off some useless ttys after like #3 up_the_irons: thanks :) jpalmer: mud run, nice! CESSMASTER: :) will changing the enabled virtual consoles from 'cons25' to 'xterm' break any of the KVM or admin stuff you have set up? it looks like this change was made in the default ttys file between 8 and 9 CESSMASTER: I believe that would be fine Grr...every time I reattach my screen session, I have to force utf8 on with ^a :utf8 on on Even using screen -RUd won't work Annoying :( I have to do the same! I thought I was imagining things. I think its a FreeBSD thing, too Other servers don't do it or a *BSD thing. I use tmux. hipster. I see no reason to use tmux over screen. It comes in base. CaZe: On what distribution? Didn't come with any of my systems. OpenBSD. FreeBSD here Tell you what, though if tmux can get me decent utf8 support on FreeBSD, I'll convert it doesnt have decent utf8 support? http://goo.gl/liwAE - here's someone else with the same problem, though I don't see how the solution applies to us. Hmm I'll be damned tmux's utf8 worked right out of the box I didn't have to force it at all I've been using screen via mosh, which forces UTF-8, haven't had any issues twobithacker: Can you see this: här . And what if you type it? här OK, I'm convinced. I'm surprised it survived IRC, actually, some servers don't handle 8-bit freenode probably runs something fairly recent though I'd hope so! 海賊 Yup, that also works. nifty I've been pretty impressed with mosh in general I'd rather replace screen with a local weechat client using a relay. But I definitely don't have time to write such a thing. There are plenty of IRC proxies out there, I used to use dircproxy mosh :| what's wrong with utf8 on freebsd? :P phlux: I've never had that problem. You could try setting the default encoding to utf8 (ie in screenrc, not on the command line) I've done that, and I still have to set it manually every time.
