heh, i have redundant paths out of my house a month or so ago, i routed a /24 to my house just because i could =) what hardware you using for bgp, up_the_irons? jlgaddis: LOL, awesome jlgaddis: Cisco 4500 with SupIV. About to be upgraded in the coming months... I have a Cisco 6506 with Sup720-3BXL sitting right next to me here nice, you can take full routes then jlgaddis: yes, very much looking forward to that what are you filtering out now, /23s and longer? jlgaddis: I believe right now we're not filtering on size, but just taking the default from our transit and then all routes from peers. So our RIB is basically all peer routes. Then, if AS path length is longer than 6, that route is cut. A pretty broad blanket heuristic, but it has worked out so far. A good way to keep a Sup that can only do 128K routes, useful :) That said, I'm glad to be retiring that method soon. Peer routes is approaching 110K, too close for comfort for me... wow, 110k from peers isn't too shabby i'm getting 403,100 routes as of right now jlgaddis: wow, the v4 table finally got over 400K? man oh man... jlgaddis: and yeah, 110K routes. I've always said I have good peering, right? ;) any problems at the moment? [xxx -- console is down] [Enter `^Ec?' for help] [down -- use ^E c ? for help] Not on kvr10. this is kvr13 Is your vm running? nope that's why i connected to the console :) Did you try booting it? yup. Did you type ^Eco? aha. and now... it's up... it wasn't a couple of minutes ago... nothing particularly obvious in the logs... just the normal sprinkling of ipfilter log messages and then the boot
