ahstanford has joined #arpnetworks ahstanford: How do I boot my KVM VPS from the iso in the CD drive? jpalmer: ahstanford: there is a tutorial, let me grab the link
ahstanford: http://support.arpnetworks.com/kb/vps/out-of-band-management ahstanford: Thank you jpalmer: welcome
in case that URL doesn't clarify.. when you connect to that console.. one of the options when you boot the VPS, is to select a button to boot from cdrom ahstanford: Thanks again!
Now I'm at the FreeBSD resolver config screen and it needs the two IPv4 DNS addresses, can anyone advise me of where I would locate those? jdoe: should be in the kb somewhere, but I'm using 208.79.88.7 and 208.79.88.9 ahstanford: kb?
knowledge base, nevermind.
Thanks. jdoe: np jpalmer: he also has IPv6 resolvers, if you'd be interested

amdprophet has joined #arpnetworks ahstanford: I finally got FreeBSD 9 installed on my new VPS but I can't access it via SSH, only VNC. I chose to run SSH by default and also chose Auto (DHCP) during the install. Anyone pointers would be highly appreciated..? jdoe: there's no dhcp server. ahstanford: I thought that might be it.
So, what would be my solution? jdoe: use the network configuration you were given?
been a while since I installed, but istr being told my ip block, gateway, etc. ahstanford: Doh. I apologize if I'm a novice here. Are you referring to a config file within the filesystem originally deployed for me?
I looked through my welcome email and did not see any network config info. mhoran: If you log in to the customer center you should be able to get your IP block and router information. ***: mtve has joined #arpnetworks jlgaddis: yep, then slap those details into /etc/rc.conf and reboot and you should be good ***: zeshoem has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
