I didn't do it How's everyone doing on the last Friday before the new year? LOL :] if up_the_irons would use zipties instead of having cat5 cables draped all over the floor, this shit'd stop :P I'll paypal ya the $3, if you need capital. I just want to be a 50/50 partner :P I use bonafide Velcro(tm) wraps jpalmer: what are u talking about? ;) lol I'll invest $3 for zipties. in return, I get 50% ownership. thats fair, right? but i don't need zipties and I don't really think you're tripping on cat5 cables. pure jokery. ;) :) I'm working outside today under an umbrella to shield the sun, cuz my old T61 unfortunately does not have much power in its backlight I upgraded to a new laptop, running Lion, last night and this morning. is it an Air? sadly, my dev environment can't be brought fully online yet no, can't use an air. not enough power ah but it's a macbookpro with 500GB SSD and 8 processors! this thing screams for compiling stuff nice! updating virtualbox, parallels, *and* vmware now hah the migration seems to have broken parallels and virtbox and vmware wanted to be updated anyway I w8 for get my #arpnetworks xmas gift you may wait a while :) wxyz: arpnetworks is giving you a fre turn-by-turn navigation app for your smartphone. it's called Waze. go download it now! and free email! gmail.com! up_the_irons: Time to upgrade to a T420s. :) LED backlight is awesome, it's almost as light as the Air and more powerful! mhoran: I actually also work on a T520, but there were some driver issues in the past (lots of crashes). I think it is sorted out now, but I dare not hibernate it. My T61, on the other hand, is rock solid. Yeah, the T61 was great. (still is obviously, but sometimes I need more power!) I have an issue with my T420s where the fan just stays running all the time, even if I boot into Windows so it doesn't seem to be a Linux thing, hopefully my processor doesn't burn out. Hibernate is always scary. Never know what's going to happen. yeah The fan problem is known. There's a third-party firmware that fixes it (for Windows, according to the reports), but Lenovo hasn't yet pushed a complete fix yet. Oh! Well thanks, mike-burns. It's been in fanless mode once or twice, and it was amazingly quiet. Since I got the SSD. I'd love it if it were ever quiet. But it's always noisy. It also doesn't sleep sometimes or randombly wakes up from sleep, which is lame. lame also, ew zipties. that was so 20 seconds ago. zipties suck velcro rolls that you can cut to length, are the best do zipties qualify when asked for "a jacket and tie? zipties + duct tape duct tape? man! thats what I've been doing wrong. I used hot glue! then, the server room gets to 110F, and the hot glue melts.. :/ lol
