I had a quick question. It seems to take about 12-24 hours to get a response back. I just decided to try arpnetworks again, but this time with Freebsd, hoping that since it appears to be more used, it would be updated. It -is- more updated than OpenBSD 4.7, which is deployed, but not enough still. I'm just trying to learn and get a system up, but I can't grab any packages since the package repo doesn't have repos for 8.1 packages anymore. Without Without...? (You got cut off) Without having to wait on a response to mount my ISO and hope I don't break something through upgrade, is there a way to upgrade from 8.1 to 8.2? sorry, didn't realize it cut me off. I don't use freebsd... but http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/updating-upgrading-freebsdupdate.html should have instructions o, sweet. thanks! I was doing openbsd earlier and it ended up with me having to load a cd after it was mounted, which was a mess. this looks way easier. Yeah that should work for you. Pretty easy and doesn't usually fail. sorressean: you can easily find 8.1 mirrors with a little searching shit I was using 7.2 and 7.3 ones recently myself but to answer your question ... yesyou can upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1 its very easy and the Handbook is your best man best wishes I'm going to get drunk! sorressean: i got FreeBsd 8.1 out of the box from arp a few months ago. Runs flawless RandalS: Can't thank you enough for the startup tips. Portmaster corrected two installs in some way I don't understand; Chromium and lxde. I like having the configs all up front. I see how you can walk away and not babysit the install that way. It did take 3 tries and 9 hours. Going to try zsh soon sorressean: I did the obsd upgrade twice without a cd. I had no issues. YMMV. up_the_irons: hi ahh sorry i have to go
