in a very overdue fashion, there is now a new "Credit Card" link on the Portal dashboard, where one can submit a new credit card congrats :) :) Awesome. and the billing address info is pre-populated from your profile (conveniences!) up_the_irons, welcome to 2001 :) lol up_the_irons: tell me you keep the rsyslod logs around for a while up_the_irons: my old employer claims that I "hacked into their system" because something went wrong on their system long after they laid me off. now they are talking about wanting to sue me seriously, I hate stupid stuff like this :( they claimed something happened yesterday - I'm guessing logs stay around that long, right? And something tells me that this all because one person forgot their email password or something stupid like that mick_laptop, that's happened to me before bummer man what did you do? you know the advice that reddit always gives? (don't stick your dick in crazy) that could be expanded to "don't work for crazy" Yea, but you can never really tell who crazy is very true mick_laptop, my situation was slightly different. They kept backups running to a service I was paying for (they were a client of mine).. I had emails, chat logs proving I told them the DB backups were still going to MY paid account and they need to move it.. They never did.. Their server crashed, data went bye bye and they said I hacked it on purpose because they owed me money and I held the backups for "ransom" they also owed me money well, they sued me, had some priority on it so we were in court pretty quickly.. I produced the documents and they had NO proof I did anything wrong so they paid me money owed, I gave the backup (which I had no obligation to do) but still, it did cost me legal fees :-/ but I felt bad for them - so I never pressed the issue (they were sued by every company that did work w/ them) so in the end, I'd rather it just never happened exactly mick_laptop, what company is this? ahh can I have the last comment taken from the logs? I was going to /msg it heh I'm not in the mood to have it logged I don't want it to be conscrewed as saying anything "bad" about them if you know what I mean I hear ya who maintains the logs? i noticed that it is logged online there is some command to op out of the logging cannot remember it though ;( you'd have to have opted out before saying that thing s/op/opt ye http://irclogger.arpnetworks.com/irclogger_log/arpnetworks?date=2011-12-08,Thu&raw=on :o hehe !seen up_the_irons was last seen at a bit before 5am PST by my logs what is better? custom iso install or should I go from lenny->wheezy? I'm guessing that it will be faster to just go w/ lenny btw: I like the new site :) mick_laptop: I like dynadot.com, but.. if you ask 10 people, you'll get 10 answers. and yes, dynadot support IPv6 glue records if you want/need. hey Jeff :) I was just thinking... wait that nick looks familiar jpalmer: see /msg pjs: the form might be 2001, but the billing system backend i'm writing is killer (https://github.com/up_the_irons/billing-system-models) :) up_the_irons, can ruby code ever really be considered "killer"? hahha I kid I kid oh no u didn't :) :) :) I actually wish there was a Python equivilent of activemerchant. The few that exist are not very strong. I actually own a specialized shopping cart product ained at direct response internet marketers.. I had to write my gateway modules by hand. Such a pita yeah, activemerchant is awesome A team in Stockholm has been writing ActiveMerchant in Erlang. So that's a thing, eventually. in Erlang eh? i guess when you need to bill A LOT of customers ;) hehe
