up_the_irons: you around? anyone here use NFS much have a question about hard mount recovery when the NFS server goes down and a process waits on it till it goes back up is it normal it can't reconect to the NFS server after the nfs server restarts? seems that reconnection works fine after simple network / routing issues, but when the server actually reboots im running into dead mounts vcs: that is NFS for ya... ;) yeah garry the thing is i wonder what is the point of a hard mount if it cant recover from such a trivial thing i thought NFS was "Stateless" on the server side >_> we all thought a lot of NFS before we actually used it... lol i thought it would magically recover from broken connections boy was i wrong :| lol well, i worked around the hard mount issue by using manual recovery with soft mounts and timeounts but damn, you would think hard mounts would be more robust than that I'd love to get umlauts and the funny Swedish characters, plus mathy things like bottom and lambda, working in my IRC. I ssh from a Debian testing machine to the VPS, which has FreeBSD 8.2. From there I run screen, and inside there I run weechat. Lots of variables, lots to configure. Has anyone tackled this? Is it even possible? I don't even want to type the characters, I just want to see them.
