bsdcan is nice, although a bit too much focussed to FreeBSD imvho :)
there is also meetbsd (for the usians) and eurobsdcon (for the europeans)

when you try "dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/$$ bs=1m count=16"
and say "oh, that's too fast... I need something harder..."
don't change "1m" to "1g".
