mattx86thought I'd let you guys know of a dual-stack managed dns provider I found: https://www.zerigo.com/managed-dns
I'll probably sign up later, but first, I must sleep :) bbl

vapormanaged dns provider == web interface? or they do all your dns for you via tickets? [12:11]
pilgrimdJudging by their site, the former. [12:12]
a_j__cdoes Arp do anything special for getting it's OpenBSD client's networking interfaces to work in QEMU? [12:15]
pilgrimdIs the e1000 driver not finding your interfaces? [12:16]
a_j__cwell, the interface is there, and it worked during the install
but it doesn't work anymore
[12:20]
finka_j__c: can you be more specific? [12:25]
a_j__cwhen I was installing, the interface I was using was working perfectly fine
and now when I boot to OpenBSD I can't hit my DHCP server
I'm prolly overlooking something
[12:26]
pilgrimdARP offers DHCP? [12:27]
a_j__cnono
this is at my place, was just wondering if there was something special they do
[12:27]
pilgrimdYou have a DHCP server at your house and you're trying to use it from your VPS? [12:28]
finkfink is confused [12:28]
pilgrimdDHCP doesn't work across broadcast domains. [12:28]
a_j__cno this has nothing to do with arpnetworks
i was just wondering if there were any tricks they use here is all
:)
[12:28]
pilgrimdIt "just works" AFAICT. Static assignments. [12:29]

GNobody: if you have $10/$20 to give it a try, give it a try
Nobody: some things to note: a virtual server isn't always fully comparible to a dedicated server, i.e.: a virtual server doesn't have direct access to the physical hardware timing clock - I know in the past, software like Asterisk has had performance problems as a result - although they've now worked around the issue, also KVM I believe isn't as bad off with the issue, you will have less resources, I don't know about the teamspeak requirements, but the

GNobody: on the other hand, you may find you can get more resources cheaper that sorta thing, some of the dedicated servers aren't that great
Nobody: it may seem like a cliche', but only you can tell :)
[21:35]
mattx86IMHO, a VPS is a great value compared to a dedicated server. it's generally easier to manage a VPS (for a lower cost) for both you and your provider [21:39]
......... (idle for 40mn)
Gmattx86: yeah, hence why I'm saying spend the 10/20 bucks to give it a try
mattx86: but I'm also acknowledging that it deosn't always work for everything as well, in comparison
