Greetings DDevine: greetings greetings greetings earthlings hello can somebody help me how do i boot to a single user mode ? remotely? i need run mergemaster -p shutdown now and then use the VNC or ssh console it will just reboot? or just shutdown shutdown means shutdown reboot means reboot :) shutdown now will shut the machine off though, yes hmm i know but how do i get to bootloader? to type boot -s as lucky said... the vnc or ssh console should show you the machine booting i dont hmm all i get when i run reboot on console is FreeBSD/amd64 (bsd.ezroot.net) (ttyu0) login: root Password: Last login: Wed Feb 16 02:45:01 on ttyu0 Copyright (c) 1992-2010 The FreeBSD Project. that already no Bootloader reboot again no it won't. shutdown now will put the machine in single user mode. shutdown -h now will shut the machine off. OMF YOU HACKED ME oops, i didn't mean to :( you can put the machine into single user also by running init 1 you can exit single user by terminating the single user mode shell there's no need to reboot unless you've updated the kernel s'all in the fbsd manual :P lol what the hell happen [root@bsd ~]# uname -a FreeBSD bsd.ezroot.net 8.2-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 8.2-PRERELEASE #1: Wed Feb 16 02:02:07 PST 2011 root@bsd.ezroot.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/fLaWLeSs amd64 lols 2 names? fLaWLeSs? wtf, indeed. hahaha im making it might as well pick a nice name for it why it says 8.2-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 8.2-PRERELEASE hoho well well well yes! i think it's starbucks time this late :P oh no! :) up_the_irons is nocturnal haha it's 16:42 here, it's approaching beer time
