i currently have 768 on my plan... jpalmer: I do 1 jail per service, usually. they can share the same IP.
so mail gets a jail (pop3, imap, smtp, and webmail) www gets a jail (webserver, plus whatever dynamic languages I load up) BIND in a jail, etc.
for clarification: jails that don't need to open the same port, can share an IP. vin: hmm
