godaddy upped all their prices on those
:(
i just got hit with a recurring 50$ charge for my company
was uber pissed
[00:14]
Gup_the_irons: oh, not all graphs are open? [00:20]
up_the_ironsG: ? [00:20]
Gup_the_irons: saw the tweet about graphs.arpnetworks been IPv6 now, but half the systems require auth [00:21]
up_the_ironsG: well yes, they should all require auth [00:21]
Gsame auth as portal?
up_the_irons: in that case, kvr13's graphs aren't protected ;)
[00:22]
up_the_ironsG: i noticed that for a sec, but i've since closed it
G: hit reload and tell me if it pops up an auth screen
[00:23]
vcsoh nice, what kind of graphs? bandwith?
:)
[00:24]
Gand I'm gussing that it's not the portal user/pass combo
up_the_irons: yeah, Auth required now
[00:24]
up_the_ironsG: roger [00:25]
vcsi need to follow arpnetworks in twitter [00:25]
up_the_ironsplease do :) [00:25]
vcsnice :)
graphs was the one thing i really wanted
at arp networks
haha
awesome!
[00:26]
up_the_ironsvcs: if you don't see a login user/pass combo for it in the portal, pm me your vps uuid and i'll add it [00:27]
Gup_the_irons: sent you a PM too [00:27]
vcseveryone quick pm bomb gary :) [00:29]
Gvcs: I'm not that mean ;) [00:30]
vcslol
i meant everyone pm bomb their uuid
:P
no one is awake tho
[00:30]
Goh, need a scripted regex
*pm*(UUID|uuid)* -> /msg up_the_irons <UUID> ;)
[00:30]
vcslol [00:31]
Gas I said, not that mean ;)
up_the_irons: for some reason, the link ended up as "/cacticacti" but nice, ;)
easy to work out and a nice cacti interface ;)
[00:31]
up_the_ironsG: wait, whut? you mean the link that is displayed in the portal? i should fix that
maybe i copy & pasted wrong
[00:34]
Gup_the_irons: yeah, it's no biggy just a 'huh?' moment to start with [00:34]
vcsnice to see my money going somewhere gary :P
haha jk
[00:35]
up_the_ironsG: it looks correct to me
vcs: :)
OH
i c
fuck
[00:35]
Gup_the_irons: rewrite rule?
trailing / missing is it?
[00:35]
up_the_ironsG: bad rewrite, fixed. works now for u? [00:37]
Gup_the_irons: access denied, but it does provide the login link
except the login link is access denied as well
[00:38]
up_the_ironsjesus, where did i go wrong here... [00:38]
Ggotta love *ahem*hate*ahem* Apache rewrite rules [00:38]
vcslol [00:39]
Gup_the_irons: what was the original rewrite rule? [00:39]
vcssimple rewrite rules are fun
but when its gets complicated...
[00:39]
Giirc if it ends in /, you should be able to put the slash and everything after as a (it'll either exist, or it won't) and that'll keep apache happy
or a rewrite rule for no slash, and the old rewrite rule
both ways have worked in the past for me, but I've since gone nginx
[00:40]
up_the_ironsseems to work now
but i didn't change anything
weird
[00:41]
GI'm still getting access denied for some reason
let me try another machine
I think I might be hitting a cache issue on my laptop
[00:41]
up_the_ironsyeah [00:42]
Gup_the_irons: works fine now here [00:43]
up_the_ironsonce i actually logged out of cacti (was using a test account), i no longer got access denied and instead would go to login page
G: cool
i think i'll start graphing IPv6 traffic from my OpenBSD router, to see how it rises over time. Guess it is time to read snmpd.conf(5)
[00:43]
Gup_the_irons: I'd be interested in such a graph [00:47]
up_the_ironsyeah, sounds like fun [00:47]
Gbe nice as something to show ISPs [00:48]

up_the_ironsthat was way to fucking easy
sprinkle some love over /etc/snmpd.conf, run snmpd, then tell Cacti it is a generic snmp-enabled host, and *BAM*, i see all the interfaces, vlans, etc... for my IPv6 network
[01:18]
Gup_the_irons: nice
hmmm for some reason my laptop isn't sharing much IPv6 love
[01:28]
and fixed :) [01:34]
up_the_ironssweet [01:38]
Gseems that when I started VLAN'ing my network I forgot to update my ip6tables rules [01:40]
up_the_ironswow, IPv6 traffic is LOW
in the kbps range ;)
[01:42]
Gup_the_irons: hold on, let me do a transfer :) [01:43]
up_the_ironsG: go go go!! [01:43]
Gup_the_irons: gone up a little? [01:44]
up_the_ironsG: only samples every 5 minutes, so i'll see on the next run [01:45]

jlgaddisup_the_irons: what gear are you using for routing? [01:49]
up_the_ironsjlgaddis: IPv4: Cisco 4500 with SupIV, IPv6: OpenBSD 4.6 [01:50]
Gup_the_irons: does that Cisco not support IPv6? [01:52]
up_the_ironsG: it does, but only in software
(so, it's a joke :)
[01:54]
GCisco makes me wonder sometimes [01:55]
jlgaddisup_the_irons: sounds like it's time for a 4500e and sup 7-e =) [01:55]
Gthat said, once you've used IOS, you'll never forget it [01:56]
up_the_ironsjlgaddis: there's a 7-e now??
jlgaddis: if you're offering to pay for one, I'll take it :)
[01:56]
Gwhile working in Commercial Linux Tech Support, I had to deal with an issue that involved Cisco Fibre Switches, I was the only one that could drive the thing and I'd never used one in the past :) [01:57]
jlgaddisup_the_irons: at $20/mo, sure =) [01:57]
Gwell at least, drive the one in our reproduction lab I mean :)
jlgaddis: wow, they look like a beast!
[01:58]
up_the_ironswow, 4x 10GE SFP's [01:58]
Gjlgaddis: requires a bit of juice don't ya reckon?
up to 6000W AC
[02:02]
jlgaddisheh, the juniper ex8200s can do up to 15kw [02:05]
Gis the Juniper stuff any good? [02:05]
jlgaddisthe best [02:06]
up_the_ironsjuniper is the way to go if your wallet can handle it [02:07]
Goh Juniper also own Avaya do they? [02:09]
jlgaddisno [02:12]
Ghmmm guess just the way they talk about Avaya in some of the product descriptions made me wonder, but yeah, no mention of Telecomunications in their products list
up_the_irons: did you get a bump w/ IPv6 traffic?
[02:15]
up_the_ironsG: no jump actually [02:17]
Gguess downloading at 80KB/s will do that
thanks to the wonderful state of New Zealand's brilliant broadband network
[02:17]
up_the_irons:) [02:19]
coobra:D
heh
[02:19]
Goh well, I wanted the file anyway, so it's not out of my way [02:19]
coobracoobra hugs his swedish isp [02:20]
Gup_the_irons: that said, if it's showing at the kbps 80KB/s should have shown imo [02:20]
up_the_ironsi c [02:21]
GI live ~24km from NZ's largest city, yet I only get 2Mbit/s
24km from the main road I should say
and thats road distance
oh it's 24km line, 32km road
and I'm likely never to benefit from Fibre to the Home
