up_the_irons: ha, I didn't realise you'd wrote http://scie.nti.st/2007/11/14/hosting-git-repositories-the-easy-and-secure-way didn't recognise the name until today, very useful article, thanks :) jpalmer, around? For some reason, my SMTP is sending from .134 instead of .130 I have no idea why, though G: no problem, I get that a lot :) up_the_irons, you can scratch my last ticket. hm, are CPUs oversold? or would it be acceptable to run a task that consumes 100% cpu for a few days? everytime i hit f10 to boot form the cd it errors out telling me it cant boot up 0003 anything i might be doing wrong? lucky: cpus nor mem is oversold so CPU-heavy workloads won't be a problem? not that I'm aware of, tis part of why we all like it here, we get to use the system not `play nice' all the time, though disk io crontabs tend to get requested for spacing out .. so you can overload the disk io if others are not playing nice with the disk at the same time, but thats the only issues I've noticed reported (from a casual glancer at this channel for 1.5yrs) phlux: did you say we can ignore that ticket from you? I did jpalmer, I figured out the issues. My biggest problem was that my SMTP wasn't bound to a specific IP on the server. has anyone used the zfsnap port for zfs snapshotting?
