hmm.  arp nagios decided that my box was unreachable
except my nagios said otherwise.

'arp nagios' .. that implies you have some notification from arp? how does that work exactly? ;-)

RandalSchwartz: one of your boxes has always looked down to my nagios, so i sent that email; we should clear that up.  maybe you changed the IP or something
I used (and still use) nagios for years..  but a week or two ago someone here mentioned opsview.  I gotta say,  I'm liking it a lot.  nagios on the backend, but a decent UI, and configurable from that UI.
I'm still evaluating opsview in the lab,  but I may be making that replace my nagios installs.

ww:  I'm liking it.  there are a couple things it doesn't handle well..  that nagios does.  but for the most part, I'm finding new workarounds or workflows to accomplish the same results.
okfn is using munin these days... i'm not exceptionally impressed with it...
