jpalmer: plz repeat that thing. plz HAHA er Hello! Anybody there? no. we're over here. ha! I was just wondering about IPv4 allocations. I just pre-ordered two servers, but nowhere could I find what the policy on IPv4 addresses is. Can I get at least 4 of them? ncullen: for something like that, you can email support. but AFAIK, yes, they'll allocate subnets. and they'll typically want them all in the same subnet so you'll probably end up with a /29 if you need at least 4 oh great that's what they did for my client, anyway so we have three servers in the /29, and a few spare addrs I have a /28 for my other server, but I'm paying for it very nice. looks like it's all very flexible then :) it's actually simpler to have only one delegation in terms of support cost so it's not just to be nice... it reduces costs. I might ask for a /28 if it's not too expensive. if you don't mind, may I ask how long you've been hosting with them? coming up on 11 months very happy so far. are you actualy Randal Schwartz? :-) I don't know how to prove that, but yes. Perl, FLOSS Weekly, Geekcruises Smalltalk etc etc Nice to meet you then. And congrats on all of this! thanks
