bob^^: must be a late night for you?
9:12am here, just got to the office for another boring day of freebsd sysadminning
up_the_irons: bob^^: yeah it's 1:26am here
bob^^: bedtime :)
up_the_irons: not for me :)
bob^^: ahh, a fellow night owl
i always find i get loads more work done when it's really late at night and nice and quiet
up_the_irons: yup
new faq article: http://support.arpnetworks.com/faqs/vps/re-install-or-change-os
wondering if it is clear
-: bob^^ starts reading
bob^^: looks pretty good to me
up_the_irons: cool
bob^^: heh, i didn't realise the OS install cd was still 'in the drive' after the initial install
that's very useful to know
up_the_irons: bob^^: yeah, no reason to take it out. makes it easy for the customer to use it as a rescue disk, or like the faq says, a re-install
bob^^: very clever
up_the_irons: :)
bob^^: i'd quite like a VPS 'server' for the office
we used to have a big vmware box for that, but vmware's filesystem is horribly slow and it doesn't much seem to like freebsd these days
up_the_irons: sounds like you need a KVM/QEMU box then
bob^^: yeah, would be very useful
any 'easy to use' guides kicking around the web?
up_the_irons: bob^^: not that i know of, but it isn't hard really
bob^^: need to spend some time reading up :)

phlux: do you guys have some kind of referral program?
I'm pretty sure I'm getting a couple of guys to swap from Linode :P
Or, at the very least, expand to ARP
up_the_irons: phlux: there's an unofficial referral program. refer someone, and if they become a happy customer (like they don't leave in a month), you get a free month
just let me know who you referred
phlux: sweet
when they sign up, I'll let you know :D
bob^^: wow, i didn't know that... i'll have to check that my work colleague still has his ARP VPS and let you know ;)
up_the_irons: bob^^: please do :)
phlux: cool :)

tino777: hello there!
i've seen on twitter that some issues were met when trying to use NetBSD with arp's vps. Have these been solved somehow? Anyone succesfully using NetBSD?

dxtr: phlux o
