Anyone ever use or test Fusion-IO SSD PCI-e cards? phlux: Negative :|
Does ARPNetworks have machines in multiple datacenters, or just the one? ballen: I think its just at Wilshire Annex
although I haven't been hanging around here much in the past few months Sheath: yeah i think its just one phlux: Alrighty
Wish they had more :[10:26] <phlux> would love to get rid of some of these Linode VPSes cmeiklejohn: phlux: I just transitioned two of my linodes a month or so back. phlux: to who? cmeiklejohn: ARP
:) phlux: ah
Well, I mainly run an IRC network with my VPSes
So it wouldn't be beneficial to have them all in the same location ballen: true, so get VPS' from multiple providers phlux: Yeah, that's what I've got going right now cmeiklejohn: Who are you using? phlux: I've got one with ARP (though I might be looking at an openbsd one soon for an unrelated project..), some with Linode, and one with CoreNetworks cmeiklejohn: Besides linode, that is? phlux: Out of all of them, ARP is the most stable/fastest by far. cmeiklejohn: Ahh phlux: and it's the only one that will support FreeBSD
All of the others are Gentoo, and I've got one Debian.
Though, recently I installed ArchLinux on a partition on my laptop, and I'm loving it so far. ballen: yea Arch is nice if you like FreeBSD
only problem is its Bleeding edge
no matter if you want to be or not phlux: lol, yeah ballen: so you'll run into issues eventually phlux: well right now HAL is having issues with my synaptics touchpad.
I have to manually enable tapping and horizontal scrolling with synclient, even though the policy specifies otherwise. ballen: yea laptops + linux never worked out well for me phlux: well, I will tell you this
My broadcom 4312 wifi worked nearly out of the box ballen: not bad phlux: I had to install two packages from the CD (the broadcom driver and wpa_supplicant) and I was up and running. ballen: yea phlux: I had ArchLinux installed, X running, wifi working, and all USB peripherals going within 25 minutes. ***: baklava has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 258 seconds) ballen: Anyone test or use Isilon storage? ***: nukeAFK is now known as nuke-
