it can happen mornin'g. Is ther esome packet loss going on? I keep dropping my connection to both my VPS... might be the terrible network here. Actually, looks like some packet loss l3/ny... possibly. no packet loss from what i can see yeah, must be something in between here and there. I think it's level 3. up_the_irons: thank you. np Yeah this is real bad. From Berklee and from Comcast at home. Looks like Vz too. Yeah, this is still going on, and it's pretty bad. Agreed. Not bad from Florida out through L3. 10 ae-92-92.ebr2.NewYork1.Level3.net (4.69.148.45) 24.675 ms 24.639 ms 24.864 ms Again. :( Back now, the next hop is ae-2-2.ebr4.SanJose1.Level3.net. So something must be busted with Level3 cross the country, eh? guys Do you know of any good registrars for .cc domains? I got a .cc domain I'd like to transfer gandi.net does .cc. looks like name.com supports .cc; I hear they're pretty good $31 to transfer wow - $35 to transfer via name.com looks like namecheap.com is $28.88 for .cc I think mike-burns uses namecheap maybe? Somebody I know uses namecheap. I've used namecheap. That's what mike-burns.com is on. I actually use namecheap myself, but I'd considered moving all my domains to name.com, to atleast lock-in the special rate for a few years unfortunately, I was lazy, and I never did it ;) fwiw, I hear moniker.com is good too, but I can't find transfer pricing for .cc I need to get one of those fancy new .co.ck domains Hmm The connection to my VPS just died! uh oh dxtr, your home internet prolly justdied coil: Uhm, well, my VPS lost connection to loads of IRC servers :P using screen and irssi? tmux and irssi hi ohai hi2u lolz ugh.. mike-burns it's all about ror :P Yeah, there's some major routing issues going on, I'm guessing with MZIMA. At least from ARP to East. oh yeah i guess i've been lagging a bit i haven't disconnected from anything yet mhoran: Mzima doesn't have that far of a reach, it just hands off to level3 if going cross country; so the rub is probably with L3 Yeah, looks it. Something between NY L3 and California. its lagging a bit in florida too Though I'm also seeing it with Verizon and Comcast. So it's not just L3. And Qwest across the country is fine. (Which is why I'm blaming Mzima, since it's the common player here.) my traceroutes go from bellsouth/att -> trit.net -> arpnetworks.com its all l3 for me besides isp and mzima ping goes from 45ms to ~100ms from att to trit.net, but seems stable I won't be much help though quite honestly; we had another storm a few days ago and my dsl went to shit again :/ we're back to 5 second outages after 5 seconds of uptime if it wasn't for connection tracking, it'd be useless Yeap there it goes again. :( Nice. I could traceroute from my linode on the east coast (I hope to move to arp soon though hehe :) Interesting. Yeah, I just dropped from v6 freenode, though I'm ssh'd to my box from he.net tunnel and it's fine. http://internetpulse.net/ -- interesting, level3 just looks to be having lots of latency issues, and ntt to level3 is horrible. interesting route from my linode: nac.net -> mzima.net / packetexchange.net -> arpnetworks.com Well PacketExchange owns mzima now so . :) yeah check out these erratic ping times: http://pastebin.com/fkfSfHpM Hm. oh, my bad, thats cross country on packetexchange :) Heh. Yeah my irssi to freenode keeps showing major lag, but my ssh to matthoran.com is fine. So clearly HE tunnels are fine, but something on the edge is no good. http://internetpulse.net/Main.aspx?xAxis=Destination&yAxis=Origin&zAxis=Metric&nAxis=Period -- even worse now! heh, 560ms, ntt->level3 Yeah, that's awesome. sounds like a 2.4GHz backhaul link :p if it helps: ping statistics for www.arpnetworks.com: 606 packets transmitted, 606 received, 0% packet loss, time 606850ms; rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 74.211/74.781/83.407/0.592 ms from my linode on the east coast geez, looking at internetpulse.net, you'd think the internet is falling apart heh Heh, yeah.
