hi djbclark: Have fun! I was supposed to go with cmeiklejohn but he bailed. :p mhoran: upgrade is complete? thanks! Only up_the_irons can upgrade things. what??? you suck im a busy manmn lets drink some more mike-burns: what up i tgink bukowskis is callng Are you there now? I got Eclipse working with Android apps and I'm trying to make it find my location. This API has a lot of parts to it. not workumg? Not compiling. Not even done writing all the code. I was just there but now I am at berklees 150 building I'd normally be up for going out but tonight is my chance to catch up on sleep. Oh man burns. weak Yeah yeah. Bukowskis is calling. I'd like to upgrade my 4.6 openbsd vps to 4.7. What is the best way to do that? Put in a request to change the install media in my vps? Or is there a way I can do it myself? freebsd-upgrade You can do an OpenBSD upgrade in-place, but you will need access to the management console. got that http://www.arpnetworks.com/vps/management-console - these are the management console details. OK, good. http://www.openbsd.org/faq/upgrade47.html#upgrade oopps I got to the menu after pressing f12... but the 4.6 install media is in the "cdrom" i missed the openbsd psrt Not sure how to boot into the 4.7 installer. i just did the 4.6 to 4.7 upgrade 2 days ago If you want to upgrade from the CD-ROM you'll need to put in a request. That said, I remember being able to upgrade OpenBSD without the CD-ROM. easy if you follow the upgrade steps I'd rather not bother anyone, let me have a look at the upgrade link above. Thanks! Good luck. :) just watch out for the mpbios bug the default kernel loads it hanging at setting tty flags so you have to bypass the load see garrys blog post I saw that in the arpnetworks faq... guess it still applies to 4.7 hey mike-burns: sleep is overrated. i just quit my side gig so i am celebrating ben: yes cmeiklejohn: thanks for the reminder :) no prob cmeiklejohn: so basically all you have to do is replace the /bsd.rd with the 4.7 version and head into the 4.7 install process? sounds easy enough :) follow the faq. theres some users you have to add, etc. otherwise the 4.6 -> 4.7 doc is spot ob. cmeiklejohn: Congrats on quitting that side gig! err, spot on. sorry, on mobile. But I'm going to bed now; we'll have to celebrate your new freedom this weekend. mike-burns: thanks, it was tough. not up for bukowski's? haha, ok 9:00 bedtime :)? It's been a long week. I hear you, man. I'm trying to get mhoran out but he's clearly ignoring me. mike-burns: we should head out one night djbclark: Sorry, meant have fun at HOPE. :) mhoran: thanks. and john got site back up. so warm puppies all around! Is it possible to just purchase 3gb of ram (add additional memory ala-carte) for a $20 special? pc600: yes, it is $5 per 256 MB chunk
