Uhm For some reason my have had a flappy connection today whoa count me in on the topic.. I gotta goto work for a few hrs though.. bbl mrbit: Give the work to me instead :D I'm gonna go unemployed in a couple of week Can't even pay my phone bill then (Wich btw is the only expense I've got except for the VPS) that kind of sucks Looking for a job like crazy dxtr, do you do any python web developmen? t* stupid t key is cutting out on me AndrewBC: Depends on how much you pay me Hah. Usually people say that when it would require a lot If you live in the USA, have had enough development experience enough to get started immediately on a Django project, and don't mind working for a shitty rate (15 USD or so an hour doesn't seem to phase my bosses, but 20+ does) as a remote contractor on oDesk, then I sure could use you. Hi cmeiklejohn . hi mike-burns I don't live in the USA, have no development experience on a Django project, and I don't mind working for a shitty rate (15 USD or so an hour doesn't seem to phase your bosses, but 20+ does) as a remote contractor on oDesk, when do I start? AndrewBC: you can find Python guys with Django experience willing to work for $15 / hr? Heh, well if I were in charge the non-USA would be no problem, but they want NDAs for everyone and are unable or unwilling to deal with complications from other countries' laws regarding NDAs up_the_irons, no, that's the problem ;) I'm the only one stupid enough to do it AndrewBC: LOL Honestly, I'd pick up Python and stuff to work $15/h right now Because 1) I'm graduating in a couple of weeks and won't recieve any more study allowance after that 2) I need money I wish I could help you. :/ That whole NDA thing is stupid. what the hell is NDA? :D Not that you wouldn't undergo rigorous scrutiny from me if you suddenly lived in the USA ;P Non-disclosure agreement basically legally binding contract on mutual secret-keeping well, not mutual actually, I suppose but you get the gist hehe The fun part is that the big secret they're wanting to protect is just an unimplemented idea with no specifications Haha If they didn't make me sign an NDA first, I'd have known there was no secret to begin with! So I'll be coming up with a crazy algorithm so they can patent it I guess... They'd probably not hire me if it's a really secret secret I'm apparently a SOCIALIST! hahah According to someone I spoke to I live in a communist hellhole :( I don't wanna live in a communist hellhole What? Where do you live? Sweden Haha, yeah that's a hellhole alright. *rolls eyes* I don't think I'd call Sweden communist to me communism is oppressively enforced We were discussing NDAs at work the other day (we have a ton of clients) and realized that not one of the NDAs we've signed has been for a secret idea. lol Yeah, NDAs are basically a feel-good mechanism these days "If I tell you this, you won't tell anyone, right? Cross your heart and hope to die?" I wonder if that there is no secret is itself a secret and thus I may have breached my NDA Then we discussed it more and realized that none of our successful clients came to us with an NDA. Pure coincidence, but with a large enough number for it to be an interesting coincidence. Ouch Heh, I'm sure your project will be great, no worries. if you guys happen to get a job for me I'll be glad to take it, btw :D Who would like a swede in their team? I code C, C++ and perl Hahah, thanks for trying, mike. :P dxtr: Are you an experienced or enthusiastic Rails developer willing to move to Boston? experienced OR enthusiastic?! Experienced = full time employee, enthusiastic = full-time intern. Nice loophole there for the unexperienced heh mike-burns: Will you be giving me a 100Mb connection? Because I'm not that eager to downgrade dxtr: If you're willing to live in a suburb, yes. I live in a suburb now. Wanna see? :) I can google map it! AndrewBC: It's basically the realization of the "what is OO not a good task for?" interview question---if the interviewee is enthusiatic about Rails they clearly don't have enough experience! mike-burns, hah. Nice. (The analogy with that interview question is: if they're so enthusiastic about OO that they can't list what it's bad at, they clearly don't have enough OO experience.) yep http://tinyurl.com/2dbd773 That's a great interview question Opps wrong I'm gonna yoink that http://bit.ly/cUeDzn Please do! There That's where I live That is indeed a suburb. Actually it is If you were sarcastic I wasn't. At least we've got 100Mb connections \o mike-burns: I've only had to sign NDAs with Very Large Companies (tm)(r)(c) and companies that have been burned by employees/contractors before. Yeah it's easier to change infrastructure in a less populated area. I'm stuck on DSL in the heart of Boston; great location, crap service. jdoe: Ah, those NDAs make sense. We get NDAs from Web startups who read on the Web that it's a good idea. I'd like some kind of work actually :/ I can drive forklift trucks! Kind of hard to do that at distance But still mike-burns: that's not unreasonable, having to actually sue could kill a small company. Shrug. granted, I agree, there's no point if the info's not secret in the first place. Yeah. Yeah i saw a namehighlist but not where and my ears are burnin :P what's going on eyes rather Yay! I got money! My study allowance! that's always good! ^5 ehh, that was lil gay heh anyway whats up? someone call? ok.. i must be blind or its cleared the buffer.. if ya need something mobilemail is mrbit@epbfi.com Would we need you for something specific? :) yeah ^--up there i said i saw where my name had been highlighted with my term config Right http://www.hostdime.com/web-hosting/vps/ Hmm Check their VPS.3 solution 1536MG of Memory 1536MG!!!! damn btw, that email was bunk man thats for emergencies only heh bbl mrbit: Just wanted to tease you ; ;) hehe,i tnoiced its cool just use it for rael needs plz l:P
