up_the_irons: "1) don't do anything illegal, and 2) don't be a retard." -- jlgaddis
LOL
jlgaddis: i thought that was a pretty good summary
up_the_irons: oh wow, i never knew +c didn't allow color
-: up_the_irons generally doesn't read about his channel modes
***: up_the_irons sets mode: -c
ChanServ sets mode: +c
jlgaddis: yep. means i can't use my /irc911 and /ircok aliases in here. =(
up_the_irons: i definitely work weekends... ;)
RandalSchwartz: if you throw an asterisk server on it, let me know how it goes. given the strict latency requirements of VoIP, I've wondered whether or not asterisk on a VPS would work well or not
anyone else using asterisk on their VPS?
I've thought about assembling a host box just for asterisk VMs
I actually own asteriskvps.com :)
(and it goes nowhere)
jlgaddis: squatter!
up_the_irons: jlgaddis: one day i will use it! :)
jlgaddis: and yes, that summary of the rules was good :)
-: up_the_irons drops a pin

no evidence to speak of though

nemith: no reason they shouldn't expecially if you don't do anything but call proccessing on them (external gateways, external vm, etc)
and (imho) where asterisk is best (under 50 phones) there is probably no issue
if you are running a large call center or just super heavy use you probably will have dedicated iron anyway
