guess i'll be back to buying second hand from eBay :) up_the_irons: all mine are 3ware too

I'm trying to get a VNC in, but it doesn't seem to be working
nevermind... was using wrong machine
apparently, I need to specify a broadcast address differently
cool - I figured out how to config my /28 and my ipv6
cool... my v6 seems to be connected
got it set up on both my box and neil's box blovett: up_the_irons, he's a linux guy.. and he didn't like the default shell. no good reasons, but it became a moot point when they were replaced.
up_the_irons, but otherwise openbgpd worked great. the only issues I had were hardware related.. that and one of my upstreams would always blame "that opensource crap" when I had issues with our circuit.
that issue was finally tracked down to a faulty card on one of the switches between us and them. ***: amdprophet has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving...)

you in the military?
we say that in the coast guard a lot
it sounds better than "aye aye" up_the_irons: phlux: not in the military, but i talk on GMRS radios a lot, and we always say "roger" phlux: ah, ok up_the_irons: phlux: you in the cost guard?
*coast phlux: I am. I'm stationed in Houston. up_the_irons: ah cool
how do you like it in Houston? phlux: It's alright. I'm from Alabama, so the big city stuff is kind of scary
but I live in a pretty nice part of town, so I think I'm good to go up_the_irons: nice phlux: We had a LT get held up right across the street from the base at a gas station, so I tried to live far away from the base :P up_the_irons: wow phlux: but the location is excellent for my job. I'm an MST (Marine Science Technician). I respond to oil spills/HAZMAT or Chemical releases
stuff is always spilling in the Houston ship channel
I'm looking at a medical discharge though.. I had back surgery, and it went south. up_the_irons: sounds like an interesting job; too bad about your back though phlux: yeah, I'm hoping I can get 100% by the end of the year. that's my only chance.
it won't all be a loss though, I'll still have my GI Bill to pay for college
and medical coverage for my wife and myself up_the_irons: ah, well that's cool
you keep medical coverage even if you are discharged? phlux: yeah, since I was injured on duty up_the_irons: ah, interesting phlux: and it's pretty much the CG's fault
turns out I'm flat-footed
I shouldn't have been able to join
They're also considering a 65% retirement
so I'd keep my ID and collect 65% E-4 pay up_the_irons: is flat-footed'ness a DQ b/c you can't run? phlux: yep up_the_irons: 65% sounds nice :) phlux: but if you get past MEPS, they can't kick you out up_the_irons: i c
interesting phlux: but the reason I herniated a disc was because of all the running on my flat feet
