one happy customer bringing another on board insightcruises.com is following stonehenge.com to ARP kinda hard to ignore a good thing... i can't believe how fast arp is... the other Xen VPS systems I've tried have been slow up_the_irons you around? shmget: I'm sure the fancy disks and the non overtaxing nature of arp makes a difference though I'd love to replcate the setup in my office for some in house testing, a friend tried kvm and was disappointed with the performance so went with the free vmware server .. I want to think there's some secret sauce in the wings makin it all fair scheduled etc .. but up_the_irons has released `his only mods' to kvm already and they have absolutely nothing to do with performance toddf: The secret sauce is in up_the_irons's PPA. :) my friend has kvm on his fbsd box and runs debian on it, he thinks its great fbsd as host or guest? toddf: I was also wondering, kqemu != kvm kqemu is nice on openbsd host too, until it crashes is there any way to pre-pay for service (like 12 months)? I'm sure up_the_irons would be happy to take your money, just ask support@arpnetworks.com heh, thanks toddf: sorry, fbsd is his host has kvm running on it dbgi: that still makes no sense, kvm does not run on freebsd (freebsd being the host os) toddf: hmm idk, maybe i misunderstood him I bet he runs debian and kvm inside of which he runs freebsd toddf i was just mistaken, idk why, hes useing qemu to run debian toddf: there may be other factors -- RAID 10, 8x 7200 RPM disks will trump a lot of smaller setups; dual cpu w/ 4 cores (8 cores total) also hepls *helps backing store also -- LVM vs. flat file vs. qcow2 I use LVM not sure how much all this comes into play, but all I can say is It Works For Me(tm) ;) RandalSchwartz: thanks for the referral! vtoms: i'm at the data center, probably leaving shortly, what's up? works for me too! thanks up_the_irons :) np! is anyone from the company on? anyone from ARP around?
