[04:39] And are the standard ports filtered? (6660-6669; 7000) [04:48] 6660 is not filtered [04:48] I guess this should work [04:59] *** ziyourenxiang has joined #arpnetworks [05:07] *** ToastyX has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving) [05:29] *** heavysixer has joined #arpnetworks [05:29] *** ChanServ sets mode: +o heavysixer [05:46] phlux: in general I've seen `do not attract bad attention, do bad things, and you are fine' [05:46] an irc server seems rather reasonable [05:46] it has been stated arpnetworks actively cooperates with authorities if anything .. nerfarious .. is discovered .. ;-) [05:47] "discovered" or "reported" [05:47] but don't take my word as authorative, I'm only a customer, so ask at support@arpnetworks.com if you want an official answer ;-) [06:09] *** heavysixer has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer) [06:34] aye, thanks toddf [07:01] I've not had any issues running a tor bridge and a couple music streams, can't imagine an ircd being any huge deal [07:01] /legal/ music. ;) [07:09] These prices are too good to pass up for a FreeBSD VPS [07:09] Especially the current deal [07:10] yeah :) [07:10] very good price and it's a decent little vps too :) [07:12] Lol, yup. Took me a while to find something at least sorta productive to do with it. I just couldn't pass it for $20. [07:13] I've got VPSes elsewhere, but I absolutely needed a FreeBSD one. [07:13] I've got mail servers on Debian, and they just won't work nearly as well as Matt's Mail Toaster for FreeBSD [07:15] Gonna pay $24 and get the extra IPs :D [07:15] How long did it take you guys to get your information? [07:16] mine was inside a day [07:16] I guess a better question would be, how long did it take for setup? [07:16] Ah, nice. [07:16] phlux: up_the_irons usually sets them up late at night his time (pst) [07:17] alrighty, thanks [07:17] *** ziyourenxiang has quit IRC (Quit: ziyourenxiang) [07:17] Heh, one time I was setting up fake interfaces for a couple jails and managed to bork it and needed to get at the colsole. I didn't know you could get that info or give it a reboot off the site so I shot a mail w/ my key for ssh access to the console. [07:18] A few or couple hours later I had a mail asking if I done something 'cause his nagios monitor showed my box not responding to pings [07:18] And then another regarding the rest and it was sorted. But it was cool to get a random mail about it being down =) [07:19] That is nice [07:19] welp, best $24 I think I've spent in a while.
