morning all can you justify paying your upstream for ipv6 ? specially when you're commit to 2gbps I tend to expect bandwidth outside of consumer bandwidth is "justifiable address space included in the price" I was rather miffed years ago when I had a client's colo at he.net and they wanted to charge for v6 as an added revenue stream for them o ok na ipv6 will be free i talked them down on cost of ipv4 too what's a good amount of ipv6 to ask for i cant even understand the subnetting lol are you going to be an ISP? end users should get /64s sites get /48's if they only need one subnet you should put a /64 on each ethernet segment "sites" eh i wonder if my switch even supports ipv6, bah if it does ethernet it should it should support switching to switches that have no clue v6 is just multicast and then a different ethernet packet routing... maybe, maybe not, depends on the switch or admining via v6, not so much with older switches ok cool i host a lot of sites a /64 supports 18446744073709552000 that many ips ? 2^64 can't i get anything smaller ? heh use /64's it makes things easier yep no need for a /48 i dont want to be subnetting stuff jeev: if you only need one subnet, you will want a /64. Nothing smaller, nothing bigger. cd $coffee ok gawd damnit stuck in ABQ
