dja: yes, but it will also delay the order b/c 8.0 hasn't been fully tested; i imagine it will work fine, but i wouldn't want to sell something i haven't tested

thats fine, I will eventually get 4 VPSs (if all goes well), starting with 2, 1 for dev, 1 for production.. hosting game and chat servers.. I know some providers dont like them

yeah, for some reason another bsd vps provider wouldnt allow it, policy against chat servers :(
sroute: no alerts.  is it hanging upon connection?  if so, you have it open somewhere else.  to completely kill old connections, either find them on your end, or do a "Shutdown (hard)" from the console or portal, then subsequent "Boot"

up_the_irons: you can ignore the last support thread msg I added; while I have not made a vnc connection in weeks (nothing open this side) it wasn't connecting; now both vnc and all regular services are. Strange, never seen that before. I have been noting some local network issues to a different path (central US); that may be at play here.
