We're purchasing some new hardware and I have to determine if they are any good.
Sounds like there are some new virtualization extensions in that release.

up_the_irons: I learned that technique from the fact that isc did it internally .. specifically to permit hosts having stable v6 link local and global addresses while still using rtsol

though I've had some say that practice is harmful as it makes scanning for hosts easy if you use a range instead of a random # and/or euid
making the router easy to find seems practical to me for the virtual hosts, even if only the link local has 'inet6 alias fe80::1' ;-)

I spent months trying to get that shit to work. Ended up just running a kernel from years ago, beacuse one release would break some feature, and the next another.

SO the issue I was seeing was that after migration, the VM's clock would lock up and would eventually bring the VM down. No good.

jeev: if that server had dual PS, I'd get it and build a backup router out of it; would pop in a Intel dual port card, or maybe even quad; so a total of 6 ports
3ware will only release code not docs, writing openbsd drivers that use 3ware with e.g. bioctl would be how OpenBSD would implement it, not one interface per raid interface ..
and gleaning docs from code written for an entirely different interface is the pain indeed
