where are the servers of arpnetworks? sroute: rumour has it they are in underground bunkers in an undisclosed location shafire: ?? mike-burns: The most I know is "California". sroute: joking. up_the_irons will answer such questions, I'm merely a client
LA area I believe. shafire: how is support to europe? sroute: dunno. Really good to Asia/Australia though. shafire: do you have a test ip? sroute: Maybe up_the_irons is around to answer...
Here's a test IP from their support pages
http://support.arpnetworks.com/faqs/main/ip-address-for-ping-tests shafire: thx ***: nerdd_ has joined #arpnetworks shafire: 170ms to europe :( ***: nerdd has quit IRC (Read error: 145 (Connection timed out))

samferry has joined #arpnetworks up_the_irons: for the record, yes, my servers are in Los Angeles
west coast only; thought about getting some east coast space, but that is blue sky at the moment
samferry: welcome to #arpnetworks, your nick looks new -: up_the_irons wonders how many people idling are logins buried deep within some forgotten screen session samferry: up_the_irons, uh
up_the_irons, pretty sure i've been coming here for a while now
up_the_irons, maybe i forgot to join on my last irc session :s
up_the_irons, just reconfigured xchat and my NX server, as well as reinstalling the OS on this box ; probably why i haven't been in here up_the_irons: samferry: maybe my mind is toast then... samferry: up_the_irons, lol ***: Nat_RH has joined #arpnetworks

;) jeev: the new securecrt is getting on my nerves
it's minimizing the screen pretty much in a screen
what do youg uys use in windows up_the_irons: lol
win-what? Nat_RH: Putty / Putty Connection Manager toddf: I use 'reboot' and 'boot> bsd.rd' from windows to shatter windows into a free os .. jeev: putty, i connect to 30 servers at once :/ Nat_RH: connection manager helps with that...30 might be a stretch hehehe
Windows handle 30 instances of anything?? ***: heavysixer has joined #arpnetworks jeev: heh
that's why securecrt does tabs Nat_RH: connection manager has tabs but isn't quite as tab-friendly as securecrt
it's good for about 5 servers...many more and you go crazy hunting tabs ***: visinin has joined #arpnetworks jeev: hmm
i dunno, securecrt is setting my termcap or whatever it is very small after i screen
even if i exit the screen
but if i open it back up in putty it's the whole window
well
it only does it in freebsd, not linux sroute: windows? huh?
I confess. I am running a windows client somewhere here.
but spend much of my day in dwm running on a FreeBSD box. Sometimes connect to that via XMing running on a XP box. Works surprisingly well. ***: heavysixer has quit IRC () jeev: up_the_irons, who is your cc merchant

games and stuffs dj_goku: up_the_irons: is there an internal ntp server we can use instead of pool.ntp.org? ***: baklava has quit IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer)) jeev: i think i've used an entire 2 mb on my VPS for months
2 months
2 megs of transfer, not megabits. dj_goku: jeev: how can we tell the amount we have used? jeev: email support and ask for usage graphs dj_goku: ah :D jeev: i haven't even requested it but i've still yhet to find something to do with my vps dj_goku: I don't want to bug support for that.
jeev: irc client for me, and going to be my dev server jeev: ahh cool
what you codd
code dj_goku: web development (Perl/catalyst) still learning. jeev: ah dj_goku: jeev: you were asking about what language to learn recently right? jeev: yea dj_goku: you give anything a try yet? jeev: i'm understanding PHP better
you have to remember i diagnosed myself with adhd
i have a nasty focusing disability
so im trying to fight through it, ive been succesful my entire life, made a lot of money but
i can't call myself anything at computers unless if i can code dj_goku: cool, just practice and you will come
s/you/it/ jeev: yea
what's more important for me to understand is CSS i think and HTML
before i get into PHP
cause PHP seems sort of easy with all the examples
the difficult part for me is getting the look of it dj_goku: css/jquery/html jeev: yea dj_goku: jeev: yeah CSS can do some crazy stuff. jeev: learning man dj_goku: css zengarden is a fun site to look at.
I haven't looked at it for awhile.
jeev: are you reading any books on xhtml/css? jeev: ahh
no man i can't read books, are you kidding me
cool site, dont like the designs but great examples dj_goku: jeev: you can change the design, some of them are very very nice. jeev: yea
my problem right now is
formatting it properly, it's giving me a headache dj_goku: jeev: like ie/firefox/*? jeev: eh
i dont think that's it dj_goku: jeev: this is on of my favorites http://www.csszengarden.com/?cssfile=189/189.css scroll the page :) jeev: for example: http://git.kernel.org/?p=virt/kvm/qemu-kvm.git;a=summary obsidieth: securecrt is awesome. jeev: obsidieth, not 6.5!
dj_goku, see how everything is formatted? time, name and text?
i can't get that to work for me. i took the stylesheet to play with
the situation is that the left text for me is a name, then on the right side it's a drop down, so it doesn't come down straight in rows obsidieth: i use some ancient portable version
at least i did. dj_goku: jeev: I am lost I don't see a time/name text. jeev: sec
http://imgbin.org/images/831.jpg
sorry for blurring it ;D
i want to make it properly separated no matter how short/long text is dj_goku: haha no problem.
so you want the all names to align and all the drop down's to align. jeev: yea up_the_irons: dj_goku: no internal ntp server, sorry dj_goku: up_the_irons: just didn't want to waste network bandwidth/traffic :D up_the_irons: dj_goku: hah, hardly uses anything ;) dj_goku: up_the_irons: I was looking at the time on my VPS was LIKE WOW, so I set it to my timezone and looked at ntpd.conf and wondered. up_the_irons: right ***: dj_goku has quit IRC ("leaving")

how the heck do I remove a user from the group....
