heavysixer has joined #arpnetworks baklava: up_the_irons: thanks, TinyVNC worked (RealVNC didn't). Is there any reason for me to keep cd, serial, or usb support in the kernel? up_the_irons: baklava: you should keep serial for the serial console access feature i'm going to be rolling out some time soon; CD support is good if you want to access the install DVD
baklava: USB support, can't think of why you'd need that.. ***: heavysixer has quit IRC () Nat_UB: irons: How does the serial console work? If you can tell? Like Serial over IP? baklava: up_the_irons: alright... sio? uart? up_the_irons: Nat_UB: you would SSH into a console server and pick 'serial console' from the menu, and *poof*, you're in your serial port
baklava: whatever ttyd0 is
"dialup tty" i think is what that stands for Nat_UB: irons: That's sweet...been looking at hardware serial consoles at work...very costly ***: vtoms has joined #arpnetworks baklava: up_the_irons: /dev/ttyd? is for sio callin ports ***: Qsource has quit IRC (bartol.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
