m0unds: <brycec> So, opinion poll: "Renewed" drives, yea/nay? -- mfg renewed? we had a few thousand 2TB seagate disks in service, and the failure rate with renewed drives was only slightly higher than new
the bigger problem for us was that we had quite a few duds right out of the package w/renewed disks that didn't seem to happen with new brycec: ty m0unds m0unds: sho nuff!
seagate was the mfg if it matters brycec: Definitely a gamble when buying via Amazon or Newegg whether "renewed" (lol at people coming up with a new term instead of "refurbished") is manufacturer-renewed or just a couple of bums turning-over lease inventory :/
m0unds: I figured, "...seagate disks in service..." m0unds: hah, i reread it and didn't think i mentioned mfg. derp. -: m0unds needs caffiene m0unds: caffeine
