up_the_ironsnathani: sure has been quiet lately [18:01]
fIorz_up_the_irons: btw, changing ISOs while the VM is running seems to have no effect, not even on the next "power cycle" ... I accidentally installed the wrong debian version as a result ;-) [18:12]
up_the_ironsfIorz_: what version did you want? that'll be a bug if it's not working on our DE node
it looks like "debian-7.8.0-amd64-netinst.iso" is mounted currently
[18:14]
fIorz_yeah, I am now reinstalling
when shut down, it works just fine
[18:16]
up_the_ironshmm it shouldn't be that way
but OK, if you got what you need now, that's good
[18:17]
fIorz_possibly some interaction with CD drive locking or something? [18:17]
up_the_ironsnot sure, it works fine with other hosts (but a hard reboot is required) [18:18]
fIorz_I might have switched while in the installer, which sooner or later (at least when mounting the CD) would lock the drive on real hardware
but the next power off/boot apparently got me back to the same installer, and I didn't realize that the same background image might indicate something hadn't quite worked ;-)
but yeah, no urgent problem for me, but a note could have saved me some time (or a fix, if it's a bug ...)
[18:19]
up_the_ironsit's a bug, so i'm going to look into it [18:25]
mnathaninow the real question is if fIorz_ would have said anything had I not lost the IRC idle game :-) [18:32]
fIorz_*g* [18:32]
...... (idle for 26mn)
up_the_ironsfIorz_: I found the source of the bug and implemented a fix; it works on some of my test VMs. Let me know if you have any further problems. [18:58]
fIorz_up_the_irons: sure, so far everything seems to be working fine, reverse delegation is also functional now ... [19:03]
........ (idle for 39mn)
mnathaniwere there any beta VMs going around?
or did I miss out

JimFentonAnyone that can help with a (probably simple) Debian upgrade question? [20:24]

***dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) [22:17]
JimFentonbrycec: I think I answered my own question after a fashion. Had never done a Debian upgrade before and it was quite different from what I expected. Things are mostly working now, but having problems getting postgresql to start -- there's an init file missing it seems.
Anyhow, thanks for the offer.
