Currently troubleshooting why my laptop has started randomly hanging, both Linux and Windows (haven't tested in its OpenBSD install yet), and it seems like it also did it during memtest too [09:19] Seems like I've managed to hang it again... this time the heartbeat is still going, the run timer is still incrementing, and even the core "state" indicator is still spinning, but the current RAM test has stopped (or just slowed to the crawl of molasses) [09:19] Next step is going to be pulling DIMMs I guess. *sigh* [09:28] *** JC_Denton has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 264 seconds) [09:33] *** JC_Denton has joined #arpnetworks [11:01] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) [11:01] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [13:35] *** ben1 has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) [13:37] *** ben1 has joined #arpnetworks [13:37] *** ChanServ sets mode: +o ben1 [14:05] *** rmlhhd has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 244 seconds) [14:12] *** Lucifer333 has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [14:28] *** ben3 has joined #arpnetworks [14:28] *** ChanServ sets mode: +o ben3 [14:28] *** ben1 has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) [14:30] *** ben3 is now known as mercutio [14:30] now it's my turn to have freenode issues [14:46] *** rmlhhd has joined #arpnetworks [14:46] *** rmlhhd has quit IRC (Changing host) [14:46] *** rmlhhd has joined #arpnetworks [15:18] brycec: it could be localised heat issue with a laptop. [15:18] it is possible in some situations for one core to lockup without the other [15:19] although that's much more likely to happen if overclocking normally [15:19] laptop heat issues usually are kind of audible though [15:53] *** ben1 has joined #arpnetworks [15:53] *** ChanServ sets mode: +o ben1 [15:54] *** mercutio has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer) [15:58] *** ben1 is now known as mercutio [16:03] Yeah I'm slowly working my way through the diagnostic smorgasbord.
