its boxing day in Canada I am thinking of getting a DSLR but have no clue about lenses Amazon has different deals with a Canon Rebel T5 with either 18-55mm or 40 mm or 50 mm or 55-250 mm or 75-300 mm @exchange 379 cad to usd 379 CAD -> 274.03678600402 USD (as of Fri, 25 Dec 2015 22:01:01 -0800) 18-55mm if you want to do more wide shots and 55-250mm if you want to do more zoomed in shots 75-300mm if you only want to do zoomed in but the 50 mm will almost certainly work better with low light (and indoors almost always counts as low light) well 40 mm if the sensor is not 35 mm Canon EOS Rebel T5 18MP DSLR Camera not sure what the sensor is almost certainly not 35mm if you don't already know what lens to get :) digital sensors are usually smaller (a standard size but it's smaller than film) (22.3mm x 14.9mm) and it's easy to imagine how the physics works with a lens making the picture appear more zoomed in APS-C 35mm was 24x36 s/was/is 35mm is 24x36 so the fov of 50mm on 35mm film is the same as about 40mm on APS-C which means, because I didn't think about that, that even the 55-250mm is probably too zoomed at it's widest that seems realy cheap mnathani_ i dunno if dslr's have come down in price or if that's a sub-par model. oh so is canon rebel r5 basically the same as canon eos 700d? the internet suggests 18-55 is good for movies. oh cannon r5i is the same as eos 700d, and canon t5 is the same as eos 1200d. dunno why they have different names. s/r5i/t5i/ oh cannon t5i is the same as eos 700d, and canon t5 is the same as eos 1200d. dunno why they have different names. and t5 is way cheaper than t5i. mtr 188.214.126.43 oops :) it was 28% off so like a $150.99 discount not much discount on the lenses though
