WhoWhatWhen
brycecI've never had an issue. I have a handful of VM's that have no issues with it - granted they're only doing one or two tasks, plenty of that 256MB (or 192MB, etc) is free for apt/dpkg operations. [00:04]

***ziyourenxiang has joined #arpnetworks [00:26]
mercutioactually with ubuntu it was partially that thing that runs when you login that checks for new version
arch linux is fine on 256mb :)
and openbsd was great on 256mb
[00:28]
brycecopenbsd is great on 96MBN :P
*MB
(and even less I'm sure, though that's the smallest I've tried lately)
FYI mercutio I'm done fiddling with zeit. It's all up-to-date, better secured, and totally monitored :D (feels good finally getting around to that)
[00:40]
mercutioyeah you were saying
i haven't poked around
[00:47]
brycec(well I wasn't *done* done when I said it. Now I am :p) [00:47]
mercutioahh [00:47]
brycec(I was done with the upgrade and such, but not with setting up the monitoring... which takes more time and effort.) [00:49]
mercutioahh [00:49]

brycecwow mnathani_, weechat 0.4.3? [12:45]
mnathani_is it really that old? [12:46]
brycec"has quit (Quit: WeeChat 0.4.3)" released Feb 2014
And we're on 1.3 now :p
1.3 is conspicuously absent from https://weechat.org/about/history/ for whatever reason. But you get the idea.
[12:47]
mnathani_would you recommend compiling? [12:49]
brycecI'm just running the packaged version, no need to compile [12:49]
mnathani_I'm on Centos so its probably really old [12:49]
brycecohlol, yeah everything centos is ancient :p
Who knows, maybe EPEL or whatever has something newer
[12:50]
mnathani_http://serverfault.com/questions/640831/cmake-error-on-compiling-weechat-from-sources
someone else having issues with no solution
[12:51]
brycecThey asked back in Oct 2014, so they were probably trying 1.0 at the time
And really, they're asking in the wrong place - they should be asking weechat for help, not randos on serverfault
(Also the fact they contradict themselves causes me to doubt their ability to do basic troubleshooting. but I'm also deeply jaded from years in techsup_
