grody: i got a little jutter for a second on the voip call, but nothing obvious as to it just passed onto the new AP
why are women so weird... she begs and pleads me to fix her windows on her lappy so she can get something on her ipod
spent ages putting win10 on it (ancient single core atom w/ 1GB) - only for her to boot into linux and use bloody rhythmbox m0unds: haha ***: phlux has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 256 seconds)
phlux has joined #arpnetworks
KILLALLHUMANS01 has joined #arpnetworks
hive-mind has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 250 seconds)
hive-mind has joined #arpnetworks mercutio: grody: did it really require a reinstall to fix windows grody: the XP on it was beyond my care to repair - plus i dont think i have any install disks for them
least now she has a clean install that seems to work ok
i was more surprised rhythmbox worked it.. it usually buggers up any music currently on it BryceBot: That's what she said!! grody: i quite like windows 10 too mercutio: i'm playing music on windows because i've never found a music player i can deal with on linux
i used to use mpg123 and ogg123 on linux years back
foobar2000 works easily on windows.
i suppose i could try it on wine grody: yea banshee and rhythmbox have their issues
i tend to use mplayer for everything mercutio: rhythmbox was my favourite linux gui player i've tried so far grody: another method i use it compile all of my playlists and library with rhythmbox, then use zeya to access my music from a web browser
if that allowed me to make playlists, it'd be pretty cool mike-burns: mplayer is dormant but mpv is the active fork. grody: hm
i dont get why that happens
was confusing enough ffmpeg became avconv mercutio: because people give up on such projects.
damned if i'd want to maintain a project like mplayer.
the kind of people that tend to work on such projects tend to be a little obsessive, and a little tempermental.
same with emulators. mike-burns: And the users are frustrating and often unrewarding. grody: true mercutio: @weather BryceBot: mercutio: Fetching weather for your previous query (akl).
Auckland International, New Zealand: Light Rain ☂ Showers 54°F (12°C), Humidity: 94%, Wind: From the SW at 15 MPH -- For more details including the forecast and almanac, see http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=-37.00805664,174.79167175 or re-request this with: @weather -v gizmoguy: 13:20:29 < mercutio> it keeps cutting out and i have to kill the process from remote and restart it
yes, I have the same issue here
re:synergy mercutio: damnit gizmoguy: their ssl implementation is crap mercutio: no solution? gizmoguy: turn off ssl mercutio: i don't know which side it is creating issues
arch upgraded synergy versions from protocol 1.5 to 1.6, and i had to upgrade windows
i don't think i'm using ssl gizmoguy: so for me
when I have ssl mode enabled, whenever I copy something to the clipboard it crashes one of my synergy processes mercutio: that seemed to be what was happening
well it made it extra likely, it seemed to be happening again
but with linux it's easy to copy accidentally :) gizmoguy: disable ssl at both ends
and give it a go mercutio: hmm how do you disable ssl with config file? gizmoguy: hrm
when I disable it in the gui
I don't see a config file change mercutio: i'm using both ends with config file gizmoguy: mercutio: remove --enable-crypto from the comand line mercutio: i don't have --enable-crypto
i just have ip address
apparently 1.7.3 fixes ssl bugs, and i'm using 1.7.3
although i upgraded windows to 1.7.4 to see if it would help
well the current nightly.. gizmoguy: oh is there a 1.7.4?
i'm running 1.7.3
still have ssl issues mercutio: 1.7.4 is nightly gizmoguy: right mercutio: bah i can't figure out if i'm using ssl
going to tcpdump ;/ gizmoguy: it shows up in the logs mercutio: whajt log?
DKDN gizmoguy: INFO: accepted secure socket mercutio: that looks like i'm not using ssl gizmoguy: WARNING: large clipboards not supported with ssl, size=1118 mercutio: seens to show DKUP DKDN
oh god my systemd journal has heaps of stuff
Synergy 1.7.3: 2015-06-15T17:17:44 DEBUG: lost clipboard 1 ownership at time 180900568
yeah nothing about ssl
i wonder if i can downgrade
i have 1.7.4 on linux first, let's see if this crashes :)
hmm ok i can cut and paste in one direction
the other one crashes :/
https://github.com/synergy/synergy/commit/72060e59b473b6c1a95042afa68d2f23b99315ef BryceBot: Github Commit: "Fixed send clipboard thread time issue #4749 by Jerry (Xinyu Hou)" mercutio: i woder if that's related
WOOT!
that fixed it
ther'es some link when you follow it along for windows for a recent build that fixes it (2 days ago)
not only doesn't it crash, but i can paste from linux into windows
