Anyone have a set of configs they want to send my way? [10:51] awyeah: what in particular do you want to adjust? [10:51] ^^ [10:51] For me, it worked out of the box, no configging... [10:51] (worked the way I wanted, out of the box) [10:51] because my use is mostly default w/a couple of irssi aliases that i was used to [10:52] and some filters i set up to remove turd packets [10:52] smartfilters ftw [10:52] yeah, and smart filters enabled [10:53] does weechat 1.0 allow you to add filters based on hostmask? didn't work in .4.3 or whatever the previous stable version was [10:53] (the one i'm on) [10:53] * brycec doesn't know [10:53] i was adding ignores for webchat agents on a couple networks because they're nearly always terrible or spammers [10:54] It's not completely clear, but there's mention of it [10:54] hm. [10:54] mask: .*oftc-webi.*@.* / server: irc.oftc / channel: * [10:54] http://sprunge.us/PWEf [10:55] Here's the full /help filter http://sprunge.us/KFOP [10:57] ah, cool. thanks. guess i'll update it [11:33] up_the_irons: one of my friends want a vm in LA and asks if you offer ubuntu 14 lts, it's not in the os dropdown [11:34] is it part of the iso library or w/e [11:34] hazardous: you can install it yourself with the iso, yeah [11:34] brb [11:34] * up_the_irons reboots after updates... [11:41] * up_the_irons is on the other side of the reboot [11:49] hazardous: It's even mirrored http://mirrors.arpnetworks.com/Ubuntu/dists/trusty/ [11:50] And the ISO is in the library http://mirrors.arpnetworks.com/ISO_Library/ [12:06] sorry, was away [12:06] Well, I guess I'm not really sure. I've seen some very nice-looking screen shots, but it doesn't look like that out of the box. [12:06] Really i need to sit down and read through the manual [12:07] I'd say mine looks very nice... [12:07] (again, no configuration besides adding aliases and filters) [12:09] So I suppose the next logical question is - what did those screenshots look like, can you link one/some to us? Might be able to point you in the right direction(s) then. [12:12] well, let me back up a little here [12:12] so I connect to my ZNC server [12:12] I'm in multiple channels. [12:12] How do I switch between channels? /window list just does nothing - no errors... nothing [12:14] Click if you have mouse on, or /buffer ##, or alt-# or alt-arrow [12:14] alt-m enables mouse, btw [12:15] ahhhh [12:15] the /buffer worked [12:15] So... you definitely need to get yourself acquainted with the keyboard shortcuts etc [12:15] yeah for sure. [12:15] oh i see [12:15] When I /buffer list, it shows it in the first buffer, that's why it appears to do nothing [12:45] ok so here's what I think I want [12:46] On the left side, I'd like a listing of all the servers I'm connected to, and under each server there should be an item for 'status' and items for each channel i'm connected to, as well as any query windows [12:46] and they should get highlighted when there's a new message in any of them. [12:47] Then in the middle, for now I just want one window, which ever channel/query/whatever is active. then on the right, the nicks in the current channel. [12:57] That's the standard layout. You probably also want the autosort.py plugin. [12:57] (Standard layout being buffer list on the left, nicks on the right, and buffers in the middle) [12:57] And hilighting is automatic [12:58] Not quite sure what you meant "an item for 'status'" - what would the status be? (also, don't think it's easily doable without some scripting) [12:58] Status is stuff from the server, notices, wallops, things like that. [12:58] All that stuff is in the server's buffer [12:59] and... my default layout does not have that list on the left [12:59] What?? That's bizarre [12:59] Do you have a tiny window? [12:59] how can I check? [12:59] (iirc there's some responsive layout stuff, either automatic or enableable, that disables columns in small windows) [13:00] Well... How big is your terminal window, awyeah? [13:00] you "check" with your eyes :p [13:01] lol, no [13:01] terminal window is currently 150x87 [13:01] I have no idea why you wouldn't have the default layout then [13:02] I installed it from the freebsd ports collection [13:02] * brycec installed from Debian's repos [13:02] that may be it - it could be a default for debian. [13:02] So we'll just blame the port maintainer :p [13:03] heh [13:03] http://weechat.org/files/doc/weechat_faq.en.html#buffers_list [13:04] okay that's almost what I want [13:04] getting close, I like it [13:04] That's what she said!! [13:04] Hm. (Maybe I installed that and forgot? It was so long ago...) [13:07] It's only listing all the buffers, but what I'd like is to have them organized by server. Getting close. [13:08] That's what the autosort.py is for [13:08] ah [13:10] and then you need /set irc.look.server_buffer independent [13:10] cYes, Yes, this is getting better and better, really liking it now. [15:09] we're getting a lot of weechat converts these days [15:10] well there wasn't much selection 15 years back. [15:10] bitchx and epic, and irssi [15:16] yay irssi [15:46] Well, you know, I just upgraded to a keyboard that feels like it belongs on an old terminal, so why not upgrade my IRC client to one that runs in a terminal ;) [16:08] irssi is my lover [16:46] does irssi know that?
